During Fuorisalone 2010 Giorgio Laboratore, also known as The Worker presents the collection Tante Belle Cose. It’s a group of ironic an quite irreverent that represent italiannes in a definitely contemporary way.
<<With the new generation of ultra flat televisions it will be hard to place on top the classic gondola souvenir of Venice. We must keep and celebrate one of the icons of kitch art. So the idea of ultra flat, technologic and essential gondola was born. The souvenirs of the collection Tante Belle Cose are inspired by actuality (is the as of Duomo Antistress) and stereotype (Bufala, Naples souvenir that plays on double mean of this word) to wink to the visitor and make this ornamental objects the excuse for a good laugh.

DUOMO ANTISTRESS
This is a polyurethane foam gadget that stylizes the shape of Duomo church of Milan. It works as an anti stress that you can press in case of high hate and envy attack. At least, in case of critical stress, is possible to trow it without producing damage to person or things.
ULTRA-FLAT GONDOLA FOR LCD SCREEN
The ultra flat souvenir is obtained by laser cutting of a zinc plate 1 mm thick. Its just 12 mm deep base allows it to be placed on any TV. This is a reinterpretation, according with the new generation of televisions, of the classic gondola that for decades lived on televisions around the world.

This object plays on the double meaning of the word. Where “bufala” means also fake or scam. Nothing better to make fun of the commercial qualities of certain vendors of Naples (like the famous episode of the film by Nanni Loy Pacco, doppio pacco e contropaccotto), skilled vendors of proverbial bricks. So the mozzarella cheese becomes concrete, with a weight of almost 2,5kg.
